The Southern Regional Tourism Circle Consensus Meeting was held on July 2, 2025, bringing together representatives from the Yunjia-Nan, Siraya, Kaohsiung, Penghu, and Dapeng Bay tourism circles. The meeting focused on discussions regarding regional integration, resource sharing, and future cooperation strategies.
Participants generally agreed that each tourism circle has gradually established its own characteristics and achievements, forming a solid foundation. Further integration through inter-regional alliances was seen as a way to enhance overall promotional effectiveness and improve the competitiveness of the tourism industry.
There was a shared consensus on establishing a unified Southern Regional Tourism Circle. In the future, collaboration in the southern region may move toward forming a legal association (juridical person) to serve as a unified platform for external resource acquisition and internal operations. By formalizing cooperation mechanisms, it would be possible to better integrate travel package design, strengthen international marketing, and improve the ability to aggregate government resources.
All parties expressed hope to form a Southern Regional Tourism Alliance in the future, working together to promote more extensive and in-depth tourism content, expand into Southeast Asian and global markets, and allow Southern Taiwan to gain broader international visibility.
Since its establishment in 2022, the Penghu Tourism Circle has not yet progressed toward legal incorporation due to local conditions and structural limitations. However, it has gradually developed an operational model and established partnerships.
With the consensus reached during this meeting, the Penghu Tourism Circle will actively participate in the integration of the southern region and will assess the feasibility and requirements for legal incorporation during its second leadership meeting at the end of August.
